GREG SANDERSON
Greg is a 23 year veteran Firefighter and Flight Paramedic for a large municipal Fire Department.  Greg is currently assigned to the Air Operations Section as a Firefighter Flight Paramedic. He is a qualified Aircrewman on Bell 412’s, Augusta Westland AW-139’s, and Jet Rangers.

His duties include Crew Chief, Hoist Operator, and Helispot manager at brush fires. He is a veteran of numerous high profile rescues, which includes swift water and mountainous operations.

Collateral duties include person in charge of Aircrew training and standardization. This involves all aspects up to and including check flights, and policies and procedures. Greg is also the equipment coordinator, responsible for testing, repair, and fabrication of new equipment.

He has been a member of the departments Swift Water and Urban Search and Rescue teams for over 20 years. He is a FEMA Rescue Specialist with an expanded scope of practice. Greg deployed on 9-1-1 to New York City as part of a FEMA task force and completed a ten day deployment at the World Trade Center.  He was one of the first FEMA members to attend the Operational Emergency Medical Specialist course in Quantico Virginia. Greg also continues to keep his National Paramedic Registry current.
(NREMT-P).

Greg is also a former Naval Reserve Aircrewman, HH-60H Crew Chief, gunner, and Combat Search and Rescue Corpsman. He has recently returned from a deployment in Iraq supporting Special Operations.

KEVIN LOOMIS
Kevin is a Captain with a large county Fire Department in the southern San Joaquin Valley of California with over thirty years of service. Kevin, along with the department Pilots were instrumental in developing the agencies helicopter rescue, hoist and firefighting program.

He is the Captain in charge of their Air Operations section, Crew Chief, Hoist Operator, and NVG program manager. Other duties include aircrew training and standardization, Helitac crew training, and US Forrest Service Helibase manager and Division group supervisor. 

Kevin has performed over 900 live hoists during training, and numerous day and NVG rescues in all types of terrain, from the desert to the high Sierra Mountains, and deep canyons and rivers.

BRENT STRAHM
Brent is a 17 year veteran of a large Southern California County Sheriff’s Department.  He is currently assigned as a Patrol Sergeant.

Brent is also a retired Naval Aircrewman and experienced Chief Petty Officer, with both active Navy and Naval Reserve experience. He has 27 years experience flying as a Crew Chief, Helicopter Rescue Swimmer, Aerial Firefighter, Anti-Submarine Warfare Operator, Special Operations/Combat Search and Rescue Airecrewman/Helicopter Gunner, and Naval Aviation Training and Operations Standardization (NATOPS) Instructor, and Type Wing Evaluator. He has qualified in the SH-2F, SH-3A/D, SH-3H, UH-3H,
SH-60F, and HH-60H model helicopters.

As a US Navy Rescue Swimmer, he has been qualified since November of 1980.  In June of 2002, he re-qualified as a Helicopter Rescue Swimmer Standardization Instructor.  Over the course of his career, he has performed SAR duties, instructed SAR duties, and evaluated other swimmers.  He is highly trained in helicopter open water rescue techniques, hoist operations, helicopter/hoist emergencies/hoist malfunctions, and Direct Deployment rescue procedures. 

He recently retired from the Naval Reserve after deployment to Iraq with a Naval Reserve Special Operations Helicopter Squadron Detachment in support of the Combined Joint Special Operations Air Component, Arabian Peninsula.  extremely demanding & hazardous night & low-level lighting conditions in support of the Special Operations mission.

ED ISCH
Ed is well known and respected within the fire aviation community.  He has worked as an Air Attack, Air Tactics Supervisor, Helicopter Manager, Helco, Air Operations Branch Director, Air Support Group Supervisor, Helibase Manager, Military Helicopter Manager, and Agency Aviation Military Liaison within Cal Fire and United States Forest Service for over 38 years.  Ed is presently the South Zone Coordinator of the Region 5 Fire Watch Program and Regional A.S.M. Program Manager.

He is nationally recognized serving on the U.S.F.S./Cal Fire Region 5 Interagency Air Attack Management Class, National Aerial Supervior Module/Air Tactics Supervisor class, and is currently a check airman in
both classes.

DAVID DANIELSON

David is a 18 year veteran EMS provider with 10 years as a Firefighter Paramedic for a large municipal Fire Department.  David is currently assigned to the Urban Search and Rescue Task Force as a Firefighter Paramedic.   He is a qualified FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Medical Specialist and serves on the department’s Swift Water Rescue Team.

David has served 20 years in the US NAVY and US NAVY Reserves.  He obtained the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer.  His primary duties are functioning as the Senior Enlisted Aircrew and Medical Department Leading Chief Petty Officer for a US NAVY helicopter squadron.  He is involved with development and supervision of a helicopter search and rescue medic program providing support for Special Operation Forces and Combat Search and Rescue.  He maintains qualifications as a Naval Aircrewman, HH-60S/H Crewchief, Gunner, Search and Rescue Swimmer, and as a Search and Rescue Medical Technician.  He has mobilized 3 times post 9/11, supporting Special Operations and Naval Air Ambulance Detachments in Iraq. 

David maintains licensure/certifications of EMT-Paramedic, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and completed the Operational Emergency Medical Skills course (OEMS) at USMC Camp Pendleton.
